Ah, having you make decisions for me is very nice.
So, here’s todays decision to make.
You know how much I love Pampered Chef, right? Well, I try to only host 2 shows a year… spring and fall. Its fall, now, and show time. My lovely friend Cindy is a consultant now, and I havent had a show for her yet. Over the weekend I found out the host bonus for September is 60% off Stoneware. 60% people! Thats freakin awesome. But, Cindy and I are crazy booked this month and we couldnt find a date to plan a show. Which means I’ll miss out. Unless I host a catalog show. Not as much fun, but I would still reap the rewards.
But not as much fun! A traditional show means me hosting, in my kitchen, which I love. I could have one in October. The host bonus is discounted stuff for Thanksgiving… a new lovely, um, thing to cook a turkey in. A very nice carving set. But, I’m not cooking a turkey this year, I’m going to Florida. To have Aunt Pattie cook turkey for me (she’s a much better cook than I). But thats not the point, the point is…
You decide for me.
A. Have a catalog show in September, to get 60% off stoneware
B. Have a real show in October, because it fun
The only other info to consider with that decision is the fact that, if I do have it in September, I’ll be very tempted to buy every piece of stoneware I dont already have (which, at this point, isnt a lot), but may turn out to be costly. If I have it in October, I would not spend as much money. And though I sometimes act like I am made of money, I am not, and considering that Christmas will be here in no time, the wise decision would be the less costly one… *sigh*
Meanwhile, I did make the Lemon Cake with Raspberry Mousse last night. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and I brought the leftovers to work and they were gone by 10am. The Mousse was very light and fluffy and marks the first time I made my own whipped cream. Super easy. I think I overcooked the cake a smidge, but nobody seemed to complain. I’ll consider it a success.

I say October. But only because if you have one in September … I uh … couldn’t come because I, too, am crazy booked. So maybe my vote shouldn’t count seeing as how it’s totally selfish in every way.

Honestly, I only wish I had things like you to worry about… *sigh* But my logical brain says you should have it in October. The only thing is… I think you will still find what to get, regardless of when you have it and I can’t blame you for it, that stuff is absolutely great.

B – Have the party in October and sell the turkey stuff on eBay using the proceeds to offset what you spent on stoneware that was not 60% off. It isn’t really fall until October anyway, and you can’t have a boring catalog show when you have such a great kitchen.

you choose – i’m sure whichever one you choose will be the one i can’t attend!

Ok, I’m weighing in with my opinion. Being that I love Stonewear, I obviously would say do September. Sure the party is fun to have, but here, you would have all the rewards, none of the work! BUT – I know you love hostessing, and if you SAY you won’t buy as much in october, maybe I’ll believe you…maybe you should just do it then. Gosh I really don’t know. You really leave us with not a lot of good options here.
