First of all, Sylvester is back. And I’m very happy.

Second of all, go Steelers! The only reason I cared about the Superbowl this year was because my good friends, JJ & Angela are Steelers fans, and I wanted them to be happy. I believe they are.

Third of all, the subject I was going to post about on Friday. I’ve been thinking a lot lately, daydreaming mostly, about the things I’d do if I didnt have to sit at a desk and earn real money everyday. I feel the need to preface my post by saying that these desires I have are based on a ideal world. Where I’m Superwoman and there are twice as many hours in a day and everything goes my way during them. I’m in no way critizing those that dont work, and how they might spend their time, nor am I silly enough to think that if/when the day comes that I do get to be a stay-at-home person, I will actually accomplish these tasks. But for now, let me dream of my better world.

If I didnt have to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, I would do a lot of things. First, I would have a schedule of chores to do during the week, so that my weekends would actually be spent doing weekend things, instead of laundry. If I were home more often, I would actually put the laundry away the day that I wash it. I would wash dishes before the sink piles up with them. I would swifferwetjet my kitchen floor regularly, instead of saying to myself “hm, thats sticky… maybe I’ll get it next weekend.” If I were home more often, I would finally unpack the boxes in the office closet. I would also get rid of all the VHS tapes I have stacked up in the 2nd floor closet. (Half of which are Dawson’s Creek and Mad About You eps that I already have on dvd). If I were home, I’d have dinner ready at a reasonable hour, every night.
I would stop going to the gym. Haha. But I would buy a rowing machine and work out regularly at home. In front of the TV, watching all the dvds I own, but have never watched.
When I’m not doing stuff at home, I’ll be doing stuff for my friends. I’ll babysit for a friend so she can have a nap, or go get a pedicure. I’ll make dinner for a couple that has been working really hard. I’ll bring a fancy dessert to friends on their anniversary. I’ll tackle the task of getting all the Kelley kids photos into albums. I’ll meet Rachel for lunch once a week (oh, wait, I already do that). I’d also meet other friends, or The Steve, for lunch, which I cant do now because they work/live too far away. I’d pick up The Girls after school sometimes, and take them out for a treat.
When I’m not doing important things for my friends, I’d volunteer more at church. (Some may think thats not possible, but I’d find something else to do). I’d also volunteer around Durham. Look at this long list of ways I could help out. I would love to tutor someone, do some administrative stuff for an organization, or feed the animals at the zoo. Which reminds me, I’d also volunteer at The Primate Center, giving tours. I love lemurs!
And one more thing, I would get a library card and check out books and read them.

Yep, thats what I’d do.
