As I Write This Letter
Dear Birthmother,
First of all, thank you. Thank you for putting the needs of your child before your own. Thank you for making the decision to give your child opportunities it may not have otherwise. I can only imagine how difficult this decision was, but I want you to know that you made the right one.
Because of your decision, we now welcome a new member into our family. Please know that though we plan to raise your child as our own, it will always know that its birthmother loved it dearly. We know that you want the best for this child and will remind it of that, as well as honor and celebrate its heritage and native country. We promise to never forget about you. Your child will always know of your great love and sacrifice for it. We promise to love our new baby unconditionally. We promise to provide for it completely.
Our decision to adopt is based primarily on our desire to love a child and provide for it in ways that it might not experience otherwise. We hold strongly the qualities of love, respect, honesty, and integrity. We promise to raise our child with those same values.
Once more, thank you. You will always be in our heart and prayers.
