Daddy Mack’ll Make Ya Jump Jump

Its not that life has been boring… I just cant think of a clever way to write about the obscene amount of bottles, diapers, pats on the back, and hours spent entertaining a 7 month old. In trying to find a schedule and stick to it, my days have been made up of just that. And not much else.

Steve and I did one of the most cliched parental things last night. Due to a 5pm – 7pm nap, AJ was still up and at ‘em at 11:30 and Steve and I were dying to go to sleep. And so Steve suggested a car ride to calm him down and get him to sleep. I dont know any parents that have actually resorted to this… but I hear about it (on TV, I guess) all the time. And so we did. We drove out to Walmart to get some more diapers and wipes (how thrilling!) and he was asleep in 10 minutes. It would be bad to become dependent on a nightly car ride, but boy did it feel good to just sit back and watch him fall asleep. No tyerd arms for me.
Whats even better, is that he woke up for one bottle during the night, quickly went to sleep again and slept till 9am. Hell yes.

That sounds lovely … does that mean that you got like … 8 hours of sleep??? By the way, my parents did it to me and my brother all time. I was actually old enough to remember – so I had to have been 4 or 5 – and they were still doing it.

This is not just on TV. My parents did it to me and my sister, my aunt and uncle did it to their kids and to me when my parents were in the hospital having my sister and Matt’s bff does it to his kids. Just to name a few examples I have. It’s totally a good idea and mad props for thinking of it:)

Yeah my parents did that or took us on a walk in the stroller around the block. Glad you are both getting sleep!
