I hear you on the whole present thing. Evan's birthday is 3 months before Christmas and then the rest of the year is wide open. There are 2 big consignment sales in the area that each have sales 2 times a year. In April, I went to one and got some good deals on things like an aqua doodle for $3. In the past year, I have found other good toys for almost nothing (as well as clothes) so I have decided that consignment sales or yard sales are the way to go. Sometimes kids toys can be worn out but usually it seems that the kids outgrow them before the toy wears out. It's great b/c I have been able to get several things for Evan for the same price as a new toy at Target or Toys R Us.
