Beautiful Mistake

Okay. So. I was lurking on this message board from Holt, one of the major agencies. It seems tradition on that board to mark all the major adoption paperwork milestones in their signature and I started to notice that some people were getting referrals before they got their I-600 approval. I had thought that you need your I-600 before you could even send your stuff to Korea. Which is why I was whining about having to wait at least 100 days. So, I emailed my caseworker and she quickly replied saying “No, you can go ahead and send your homestudy packet as soon as you are ready. ” What? Like, tomorrow?! Holy cow!! Here I was thinking we’d be waiting till October, which meant not getting a referral till November or so. But I was WRONG. Very wrong! We’re back on schedule. And now I need to get my ass in gear. Seriously. I’m giving myself the deadline of Wednesday August 9th to have everything together and off to my agency. Yay!

Whoa … so what does that mean as far as when you get Baby? I’ll ask you over lunch.

Heh, okay. But for others that might want the answer to that question now and arent privledged enough to dine with me… it means we’re back to the original thought of referral end of September, travel December. For awhile, it was feeling like referral November, travel February. Not cool. We like this plan better.

so you’ll have a Korean Christmas, maybe? :) But just travelling there doesn’t mean you come home with a bebe, right? you have to make a couple trips there? or no. am I totally off…now that I’m looking at your schedule, it looks like only one trip! So that would mean, baby by Christmas?!?!?!?!?!? oh my gosh.

Yep, one trip, probably only a week long and flying back with my baby. So, yes, baby by the end of the year.
