Reconsidering

Maybe this menu posting wasnt such a grand idea…
AJ has entered the lovely stage of refusing anything new and even dismissing his usual favorites. I mean, he’s still eating, though he’s not a fan of any veggie and has started to catch on to my method of hiding stuff in tastier items… clever little boy.
But, I’ve settled on some staples, and his menu is seeming more repetitious over interesting. Its easier for me to prepare it everyday… but not as exciting for you. Should we hit a new culinary milestone, I’ll let you know.

AJ’s Menu – January 16

Pasta w/ a dash of Italian dressing
Half a hot dog (special treat cause he’s home with daddy!)
Cauliflower w/ a dash of raspberry vinaigrette
Blueberries
soy milk

Dinner

Sundried tomato flat bread with hummus and fresh baby spinach
Red grapes

Apple cinnamon oatmeal with a jar of pears and raspberries mixed in
Red grapes (quartered)
Water

Lunch

Chili (ground beef, pinto beans, kidney beans, pasta)
Carrots (glazed in cinnamon and a pinch of brown sugar) (sliced and quartered)
Red grapes (twice in one day? someone needs to go shopping!) (quartered)
5 oz soy milk

Dinner

One slice of whole grain bread with sunflower seed butter and kiwi (bite sized)
Steamed broccoli & cauliflower w/ a dash of Italian dressing
Zesty tomato veggies crunchies
4 oz soy milk

Sundried tomato flat bread with hummus and fresh spinach (half, bite sized)

Baked pears with nutmeg (bite sized)
5 oz soy milk

Dinner

Pasta with Italian dressing and stewed tomatoes
Red grapes (quatered)
Dill pickle (bite sized) (a special treat!)
5 oz soy milk

1 slice of whole grain bread, sunflower seed butter(1 tbsp) and kiwi(half) sandwich (bite sized)
Water

Lunch

Chili (ground beef, pinto beans, kidney beans, pasta) (beans cut in half)
Red grapes
Cooked carrots with cinnamon and brown sugar(pinch) (pre sliced, cut in quaters)
5 oz soy milk

Dinner

Sundried tomato flat bread with hummus and fresh baby spinach (bite sized)
Blueberries (cut in half)
Pasta (lightly buttered)
5 oz soy milk

Sundried tomato flat bread with hummus (half, bite sized)
Red grapes (cut into quarters)
Raw broccoli and cucumbers (bite sized)
5 oz Soy Milk (Silk, Vanilla flavored)

Dinner

Whole grain chicken flavored pasta with stewed tomatoes (bite sized)
Pinto beans (cut in half)
Baked apples with cinnamon (bite sized)
5 oz Soy Milk (Silk, Vanilla flavored)

AJ certainly doesnt need presents for his birthday. He wont know the difference… but, for those that enjoy buying gifts… here are a few things I think AJ could use or would enjoy.

Spinning Stacking Tops

Fleece Dinosaur Mohawk Hat and Mittens

Pajamas – I’m seriously addicted to Carter’s footsie pajamas (so damn cute!)(18 months), but these are cute too (12-18 months).

Winter clothes (12-18 months) – should it ever get cold in NC this year, I think AJ would sport these items very well. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

Shoes – Robeez (size 12-18 months) or fake robeez from Target

Eating is Fun – utensils and straw sippy cups and snack catcher and travel bowls

If I had to pick, AJ’s favorite thing to do is play with books. His board books and other toys all sit in the same basket, and he will always go through all the books before picking out a toy. I’m all for encouraging reading… so here are a few we’d really enjoy. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

But he also likes toys… really loud obnoxious headache inducing but so much fun toys.

Dear friends of mine. It has come to my attention that there’s a problem with purchasing something from My Market. And since I really do want those gifts, here’s my solution. If you have decided on an item in the market that you would like to claim, please comment anonymously on that item. Similar to the other registries, I may know it was purchased, but not by who. That way, you don’t have to worry about buying an item online with a sketchy return policy or that everyone buys a “Made in Korea” onesie (though if you all get different sizes, that’d be awesome).
And thats the last I’ll talk about buying me stuff. Cause its weird.

Suddenly I See

I’ve been daydreaming lately, about going to Korea, and coming home to a miraculously clean and shiny house. That while we were gone, some wonderful house cleaning people spent the day scrubbing and dusting and when I open the door, I can see its cleaner than the day we bought the place. The stove sparkles, the couch has been vacuumed, the bathrooms are gleaming and there’s not a single cat hair. Ahhh. How blissful would that be?
While a weekly house cleaning would be the best gift ever, I’d really just like a one time super professional cleaning to get things back on track. That would be awesome. I think I’ll go daydream about it some more.

This is the shirt I would want to be wearing on the very long flight to Korea (and back again). While most soon to be mom’s have a big belly for advertising their pending arrival, I wont. I think this would be the best way to let people in on why I’m so smiley (assuming I will be smiling, and traveling wont be a hassle (ie: my cakes dont get stolen, my luggage doesnt get lost, they dont think The Steve is a terrorist)). Top of my list, this shirt.

You do not know how many times we made my little brother sit in his super hot car seat while he cried, just encouraging him that eventually it would cool down.
