On Your Mark

Clearly, not much has been going on in the adoption side of my life in the past 10 days. We’ve been waiting for our tax information to come in, and last night I told the husband that I was tyerd of waiting and wanted to turn in our application to CAS. I’ll admit I was very surprised when he told me to go ahead and do it. “Its not like our tax information is going to change anything, we’re doing this no matter what.” he said. That made me happy.
So, today or tomorrow, I’ll be completing the application and mailing it off. Thats exciting, isnt it?

Looking for a good read…

The blogs were all right, in comparison to any other child-related subject, the adoption books are certainly lacking. I went to Barnes & Noble last week, and was disappointed. Rows and rows of pregnancy books and half a shelf of adoption books. I decided to check Amazon, in hopes of finding more. There are more, but certainly nothing recently published.
At some point, I’d like to read “Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parent Knew” but probably not until I’m an actual adoptive parent.
I did find a lovely cookbook… Small-Batch Baking. I think I’ll buy it.

In slightly related news, The husband has applied for a promotion. I’m trying not to get too set on it, but it is looking promising. If he gets this job (and the subsequent raise) I’ll most definitely be getting a new car. And maybe even a new new car. The rest of the money will go directly into savings for our Baby.
When I check the mail tonight, the husbands W2’s should be there. With that, we’ll have all the pieces we need to figure out our taxes. Once we have that in front of us, we’ll proceed with applying to CAS. Officially officially starting the process in February makes me very happy. :)
