Damn Your Mood Swings

I was more glad than I’ve ever been to drop AJ off at daycare this morning. He was having one of those high drama mornings where every little thing (and seemingly nothing at all!) would just make him come completely undone. And then he’d run around happily giggling so you’d think “oh good, he’s better now” and go to put on his jacket and BAM! his whole world is collapsing. I will chalk it up to a very stuffy nose, which made for a less than restful night of sleep (for everyone), but boy was I glad to say “I love you, bye bye!” this morning.
Despite that, I’m really enjoying 13 months old. This age has given me a bit more independence. Though AJ is still a bit clingy, he can also sit and play, or watch tv, for a couple of minutes without my involvement. Its amazing what a person can do in a couple of minutes when they have both hands!
Also, there’s a bit more communication, and I’m loving it. Sure there arent many words, and they are hardly consistent, but man does it feel good to say “put the money in the bucket” and he does it! He understood me! And responded!
He’s still wonderfully cuddly, extra giggly and just plain fun to be around (most of the time).

I would also like to honor my heroes of today… Moose and Zee. moosezee.gif

Bless the creators of these wonderful characters, and whoever keeps them interesting.  If you dont know them as well as we do in our house, they are on Noggin, a kids tv channel we hang out on. They only  have short segments between the actual shows, but AJ absolutely loves them. He can be in the kitchen, hear Moose start singing, and take a flailing run to the TV to see them. He will watch them intently (even if its the same short he’s seen a dozen times) and because of them, I can slice a serving of blueberries uninterrupted. I love Moose & Zee. Berries ARE the fruitiest!
